EDINA, Minn. - An Edina mother got the national spotlight Monday, competing to be the next American Ninja Warrior.

Sarah Schoback, 32, participated in the final round in Kansas City Monday night.

Known as the "Ninja of the North," Schoback trains with fellow Minnesotan and American Ninja Warrior contestant, Sara Heesen.

Schoback missed out on the opportunity to go on to Las Vegas by three-tenths of a second on Monday. But that paved the way for Heesan to go.

Schoback is a stay-at-home mother of two children, ages 3 and a half and 5, and is in the process of adopting a teen out of foster care. She is also the first mom to open and own her own Ninja gym – Obstacle Academy in Edina.

"Dealing with some post-partum depression after having kids and dealing with the body image insecurities, and once I was able to find something that was mine, I was able to get the strength and this power to realize, like, this is such a beautiful thing, my body is still beautiful, I created these two beautiful beings," she said.

Now each day, Schoback helps other women find their strength.
